One of three versions of a user's interface can be chosen to employ VICTORIA. They are:

• Text
• Standard
• Technics

A regular environment to use the system is one of the Internet browsers:

• Internet Explorer v. 4.00 or later,
• Netscape Communicator v. 4.00 or later.

To use the Standard and Technics versions you have to install an Autodesk Mapguide Viewer which implements some graphics routines for mapping in your computer. The viewer is downloaded and installed just once.

Internet Explorer

The viewer is an Active-X component. In the first entry to the system you have to download the free viewer from activex.exe. The name of the downloaded file is activex.exe. Run it to unzip files, then run setup.exe in the directory created.

Netscape Communicator

The viewer is a plug-in. In the first entry to the system you have to download the free viewer from mapguide_plugin.exe . The name of the downloaded file is mapguide_plugin.exe. Run it to unzip files, then run setup.exe in the directory created.

Please notice that VICTORIA is optimized for use Internete Explorer. The system is tested for the following versions of Netscape Communicator: 4.06, 4.08, 4.51, 4.71, 4.76. You can employ only the Text version if using Netscape Communicator 6.
